Donate to WellChild via the club shop
Forest Green Rovers supporters can now make a small donation to the club’s charity partner, WellChild, when purchasing matchday tickets through the club’s online shop.
Through every purchase made, fans have the option of donating to the charity when going through the checkout process online.
Cheltenham-based charity WellChild became FGR’s charity partners for the first time this season and a home match against Bromley in September announced the new partnership.
Funding specialist WellChild Nurses, a family support network and home and garden makeovers, WellChild provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with exceptional health needs.
WellChild’s Helping Hands programme is one example of their excellent work, which is helping children such as Mackenzie who has vanishing white matter disease – a rare life-limiting condition that causes gradual deterioration and loss of skills. Mackenzie uses a wheelchair and has slow and slurred speech.
Currently, Mackenzie’s garden is inaccessible, unappealing and does not meet her needs. Funded by donations as part of the Helping Hands programme, WellChild are working to help build Mackenzie a garden at her home that’s accessible and secure so she can enjoy spending time with her family with a play area, wheelchair access and a space where she can play games with her sister.
Your donations to WellChild can help ensure Mackenzie has a safe place to play at home with her family.
FGR will be hosting another WellChild themed match on Saturday 4 March at The New Lawn against Macclesfield Town, which will give fans the chance to learn more about the charity and to make a donation on the day.
In the meantime, supporters are invited to add a £1 donation to WellChild each time they make a purchase on the club shop, which will be added to the total cost of your bill at the checkout.
