Sam Wedgbury joined Forest Green in May 2014 after leaving Football League side Stevenage.
The lively central midfielder is now in his third season at The New Lawn but is facing a fight for fitness after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in the final home match of the 2015-16 season.
A hugely popular member of the squad, Wedgbury began his playing days at Worcester City, where his talents as a teenager saw him get picked up by Sheffield United.
While at Bramall Lane he went on loan to Hungarian giants Ferencevaros. However he never made a first team appearance for the Blades and left the club.
He subsequently moved to Macclesfield where he went onto play for the Silkmen in the Football League. He made over a 100 appearances and helped them reach the fourth round of the FA Cup after knocking out Cardiff City in the third round.
His excellent showings for Macclesfield earned him a transfer to then League One Stevenage.
After a year with the Hertfordshire outfit he left at the end of the 2013-14 season to sign for FGR. He was a regular in his first two seasons at The New Lawn, helping the club reach the play-offs in successive seasons.
