"Get started with Football" course

The Prince’s Trust is running a Get started with Football course in November for unemployed young people aged 16-25.

If you are living in Stroud, into football but out of work, then Get Started with us. This course will help you develop new skills, build your confidence and have fun.

FA Youth Cup run ended by Torquay

Despite seeing his side slip out of the FA Youth Cup on Monday night, youth team boss Scott Bartlett felt there were still plenty of positive for his youngsters, as their cup run was ended by a 2-1 defeat to Football League academy side Torquay United at The New Lawn. 

The visitors possessed a two goal advantage at the break, and despite Dan Martin’s early second half goal, the Devonshire youngsters held on to book themselves a place in the second round.

Bartlett's boys tackle Torquay tonight

Scott Bartlett’s under 18’s squad face Torquay United in the first round of the FA Youth Cup tonight at The New Lawn (kick off 7:30pm). 

Rovers’ youth team overcame South West Counties Youth League rivals Cirencester 3-1 in a tricky Third Qualifying Round last week played in atrocious conditions.

Forest Green Youth advance in the Cup

Scott Bartlett’s under 18’s squad booked themselves a place in the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup with a satisfying win in difficult conditions against the Cirencester Academy

Rovers’ youngsters will now host Football League apprentices Torquay United in the first round at The New Lawn after overcoming South West Counties Youth League rivals Cirencester in a tricky tie played in atrocious conditions.

FA Youth Cup to go ahead tonight

Forest Green Rovers under 18s game against Cirencester Town in the FA Youth Cup has been given the green light to go ahead at The New Lawn tonight - despite today's stormy weather.

The Academy side will be hoping to go one better than last year when they narrowly missed out on advancing to the First Round proper after losing 2-1 in extra-time to Maidenhead United.

Forest Green Rovers under 18s have been drawn to play Cirencester Town in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup at The New Lawn on Monday 28th October.

Odd Down at The New Lawn Monday

Forest Green Rovers under 18 side play Odd Down in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup at The New Lawn on Monday 7th October (7:30pm).

Scott Bartlett's young Academy side have already progressed through two stages of the Cup, beating Ashton & Backwell United 5-0 in the Preliminary Round, before accounting for Clevedon Town 2-1 on Monday with goals from Louis McGrory and Callum Richings.

Forest Green Rovers under 18 side progressed into the second qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup after a 2-1 win over Clevedon Town at The New Lawn last night.

After a goalless first half, Scott Bartlett's young Academy side opened the scoring through Louis McGrory in the 70th minute, before Callum Richings sealed the win five minutes later with a 20-yard strike from within the "D".

New Lawn hosts FA Youth Cup tonight

Forest Green Rovers under 18 side play the first qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup against Clevedon Town at The New Lawn tonight (7:45pm).

Rovers overcame Ashton & Backwell United 5-0 in the Preliminary Round of the 62nd FA Youth Cup and will be looking to match last season's cup run through the qualifying rounds.

Bartlett's boys advance in FA Youth Cup

Forest Green Rovers under 18 side progressed into the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup with another mature display - beating Chard Town 3-1 in Somerset.

A proud Rovers coach Scott Bartlett said the match started in typical cup fashion, fast and furious, yet goal-less at half-time.
