07/02/2010 - Slow Start for Rovers ends in Another Defeat.
Two goals in the first 10 minutes killed off Forest Green’s chances at Kingsmeadow, keeping them marooned in the bottom four. The Dons flew out of the traps and could have gone ahead even before Will Hendry crossed from the right for Nathan Elder to score with a diving header on eight minutes. Two minutes later Ricky Wellard was invited to run at the heart of the visitors, and he duly fed the ball through for Hendry to slot into the bottom corner. Rovers' best chance of the first half came when Isaiah Rankin put Reece Styche clean through on goal, but the striker lifted the ball over onrushing keeper James Pullen and onto the roof of the net. The second period was a more even affair, but Jonathan Smith's fluffed shot from six yards - saved by keeper James Pullen - proved Rovers' clearest opening. Read Full Match Report
