High flying Wrexham set for New Lawn visit
FOREST Green face up against Welsh opposition for the second time in four days as high flying Wrexham are the visitors to The New Lawn on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).
The North Wales outfit have had a terrific season so far and they currently sit in 1st place and recently took Npower Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion to a FA Cup third round replay penalty shootout.
Rovers faced up against Wrexham’s Blue Square Bet Premier Welsh rivals on Saturday as Dave Hockaday’s side picked up a point at the Newport Stadium after a fourteen day break whilst Wrexham continued their good form with a convincing win over Kettering.
Tuesday evening’s game will no doubt be a huge test for Rovers as they chase their first victory of 2012.
The game will give Rovers new goalkeeper signing, Sam Russell, the opportunity to line up against his former club after the 29 year old made his FGR debut with a clean sheet at the weekend.
The visit of Wrexham is the beginning of two tough fixtures this week as Wrexham’s promotion rivals Fleetwood Town visit Nailsworth on Saturday so it’s hoped that a big crowd will turn out to help cheer Rovers on.
The usual hospitality will be available for supporters and away supporters are also very welcome to enjoy a pre match pint and meal in the Green Man before the game.
Home fans can also access the Carol Embrey Suite and Black & White Lounge on the evening to enjoy a pre match meal and all of the hospitality there is on offer on a match day at The New Lawn.
It promises to be an entertaining night of action at The New Lawn as one of the divisions more impressive sides provide a stern test for a Rovers team who will be hoping to pull off a fine home win.
