David Drew on Locker Room tonight

Vice-chairman David Drew is this evening's special guest on Stroud FM’s local football show, The Locker Room, to discuss the latest goings on at The New Lawn (7pm). 

Previously club chairman before Dale Vince became the incumbent, David Drew will be delivering his thoughts on Rovers post-season additions as well as looking at the up and coming preseason schedule.

Aarran Racine on Alter-G machine

While their teammates have been sunning themselves on foreign shores, Forest Green Rovers injured quartet of Reece Styche, Arraan Racine, Steve Brogan and OJ Koroma have been hard at work on the rehabilitation room.

Yesterday afternoon, Reece and Aarran were in Cheltenham taking advantage of a rehabilitation machine that makes use of NASA technology – the Alter-G treadmill – which they hope will help them return quicker and stronger for the 2013/14 season.

Supporters Club day at the races

It may be the close season but the FGR Supporters Club are continuing with their busy calendar of events with a day at the races next on the agenda. 

On Saturday 1 June, all of those interested are invited to join the Supporters Club for a day out at Worcester Racecourse for what will be Ladies Day at the National Hunt venue.

Jamie Collins signs for Eastleigh FC

Midfielder Jamie Collins has agreed to join Eastleigh FC after having his contract at Forest Green Rovers terminated by mutual consent.

The 28-year-old, who lives with his young family in Hertfordshire, has struggled with a daily commute of almost 300 miles in the round-trip to Nailsworth.

Seven preseason fixtures confirmed

Forest Green Rovers have now confirmed seven preseason fixtures as they prepare for their most exciting campaign to date.

The fixture announcement comes on the back of three new signings that have strengthened Rovers squad and reports in the Non-League Paper that BT Sport are set to sign 3-year deal to broadcast 25-30 live games of Conference Football.

Anthony Barry signs three-year deal

Forest Green Rovers have signed former Fleetwood midfielder Anthony Barry on a three-year contract.

The 26-year-old has spent the past three and a half seasons with the Lancashire club during which time they rose from Conference North to League Two and was unlucky to be released after an injury ravaged spell during the middle part of his contract.

Rovers snap up Mangan on 3 year deal

Forest Green have re-signed striker Andy Mangan on a three-year contract, bringing the former Rovers player back to ground that delivered him a 30-goal season.

The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons at Fleetwood Town and his goals were a massive factor in the Lancashire outfit running away with the Conference National title in 2011/12.

Rovers Academy are Youth champions

Forest Green Rovers’ under 18 Academy squad have claimed the South West Counties Youth League by a single point after a 4-0 victory over Salisbury City on the final day of the season.

The outcome was a coup for the fledgling FGR Academy and coach Scott Bartlett, with his first crop of youngsters combining study at SGS College with full-time training.
