This week Forest Green Ladies welcomed Chesham Ladies on a very hot afternoon, however the start was anything but slow.
Forest Ladies once again started brightly having the lion’s share of the first half and playing some excellent football, but with Chesham set up defensively in a 4-5-1 it was always going to be hard to break them down whilst not conceding to a breakaway goal which seemed to be Cheshams tactics. For all Forest Greens possession they failed to test the goalkeeper enough during the first 45 minutes. Half time 0-0.
The second half continued in the same vein, however, Forest Green ladies seemed a lot more determined and although time was pressing on they kept their composure and didn’t panic. On 60th minute Kirsty Richardson latched on to some excellent link up play between Charlotte King and Katie Cook just to hit the post from a tight angle was it going to be one of those days? With Forest Green now in full control once again Kirsty Richardson latched on to an inch perfect pass from Annie hitting a low shot into the bottom corner 1-0. With only 6 minutes remaining on the clock Forest Ladies then carried out a very professional job of seeing out the game.
Manager Josh Giddins Said: In blistering heat and with Chesham defending well this was again a very Professional job.
