James Rowe
Midfielder
Former Reading product James Rowe signed a two year deal at The New Lawn after impressing on trial in Forest Green’s pre season campaign that summer.
And the creative midfielder’s Rovers career got off to a great start with a regular place in the middle of the club’s midfield with an impressive assists record earning the youngster many plaudits but an injury midway through the campaign derailed his impressive start.
James worked with Dave Hockaday in the academy at Southampton and was picked up by Reading but left the Madjeski Stadium without having made a senior appearance despite being handed a first team shirt number by Reading boss Brian McDermott.
He has also spent time on loan at Basingstoke Town and Lewes during his time with Reading and was named in the preliminary squad for the England C team last season.
