Magno Vieira

Striker

Forest Green swooped to sign the experienced Magno Vieira at the end of the 2011-12 season after the Brazilian attacker had secured another promotion out of the Blue Square Bet Premier with Fleetwood Town. Magno signed a three year contract at The New Lawn signalling the clubs ambition as a key factor behind his move and has enjoyed a highly successful goal scoring career in both the Football League and non league game.

Born in Brazil, Magno began his career at Wigan Athletic and spent time on loan with Northampton Town and Carlisle United – of whom he earned a Conference play off final winner medal with, helping the Cumbrians back in to the Football League. Without making a senior appearance for Wigan, he left and spent a year with Barnet before later moving in to the Blue Square Premier with Crawley Town with a loan spell at Cambridge United soon to follow.

Magno then stepped back up in to the Football League following his release by Crawley and signed for Wycombe Wanderers with a move back in to non league with Ebbsfleet United proving successful as the roaming attacker won the January Blue Square ‘Player of the Month’ award and received the ‘Supporters Player of the Year’ award from the Ebbsfleet fans.

His goal scoring antics for Ebbsfleet captured the eye of ambitious Fleetwood Town who he joined for two seasons, finishing as top goal scorer at the club in their 2010-11 campaign and helping them to promotion to the Football League the following season.
