Eddie Oshodi

Watford youth team product Eddie Oshodi burst on to the scene at Forest Green in October 2011 forming a rock solid central defensive partnership with Jamie Turley.

And Eddie’s impressive performances in the Rovers backline saw him receive a call up to the England C squad in February 2012 just weeks after his 20th birthday for the international with Italy at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium.

Eddie progressed through the ranks at Watford making two senior league appearances with the first coming in a September 2009 Championship fixture against Coventry City and he also spent time on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge and the now defunct Rushden & Diamonds.

After being released by the Vicarage Road club in August 2011, Eddie spent time training with Northampton Town and Burton Albion but Dave Hockaday snapped him up having worked with Oshodi in the youth system at Watford to sign for Rovers.

Eddie has previously featured for the both the England under 16 and under 17 squads and was part of the England under 17’s European Championship squad in 2009 that also included Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere and Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Oshodi signed a contract extension in January 2013 that will keep him at The New Lawn until the end of 2014-15 season.
