Peter Vick

Peter Vick joined his brothers Harold and Norman in the Forest Green Rovers squad in 1936, just as the committee secured the long term future of the Club with the purchase of The Lawn. Peter remembers watching the likes of Joe and Gary Brown play for Rovers towards the end of their careers when he was a young supporter in the 1920s.

He played for the Club from 1936 until his last game in 1958, and also continued, like Scrubby, as a linesman for the Club.

Off the field, Peter became a driving force in the Supporters Club which has its own section below. Peter volunteered his services and was part of the team that built the Club’s changing rooms and numerous other ground improvements that made The Lawn the pride of Gloucestershire, with many County and Cup Finals being played there over the years.

In non league terms the ground was second to none and helped FGR towards the position they hold today.

Peter then became Chairman of the Club in 196? and stayed in office through an ambitious series of further improvements to The Lawn including a new grandstand.

Peter is the current Club President having been associated with Forest Green Rovers for more than 70 years.

Peter’s perseverance and drive, and enthusiasm, for all things Forest Green is one of the reasons the Club is what it is today.
